A Young Girl's Journey into an Enchanted Dishwasher Rinses Away the Boredom in her Life in New Book, Alisa in Washerland

Wolcott, CT (PRWeb) December 17, 2006 -- "Alisa in Washerland" by Marian Flores follows a 10-year-old girl as she is whisked away into an enchanted world nestled inside the family dishwasher. There, she discovers mysterious creatures who teach her that by looking beyond what she sees, she can find exactly what she's looking for, even if she didn't know she was searching.

Told through the eyes of a young girl, "Alisa in Washerland" is a fable whose central theme is responsibility, and the importance of maintaining perspective in life. Alisa's frustrations with her daily chores propel her into a fantastic adventure where she meets the unforgettable scrubby worms, the beautiful glow-in-the dark butterflies and the comforting Tickle Hands. The time she spends with these magical creatures causes her to examine her own life differently, and she leaves their company with a new outlook on life.

With lessons relevant to both adults and adolescents, "Alisa in Washerland" is a masterfully written metaphor for how we view our own lives, and the adventures awaiting us if we simply choose to see them. It's the story of one little girl's wish to be free of work, her mother's wish to teach her responsibility and the incredible dishwasher that makes wishes come true.

"The everyday becomes extraordinary in this charmingly original take on Alice in Wonderland. ... Flores has created a feisty, fun little heroine and a world that's chockfull of clever wonders. The book ... makes you see ordinary things in a way you never had before. ...thanks to Flores's scrubbing worms and dancing butterflies, the mundane is absolutely magical, and doing the dishes need never be a chore again."
