Novel Features Three Generations of a Family Versed in Deception and Intrigue
Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) March 10, 2008 -- The latest book in Jacqueline Randolph's Deception Series, "Deception's Legacy," is simultaneously a work of historic and futuristic fiction, surrounding the biracial family of headstrong, beautiful DEA agent, Skye Matthews.
Author Jacqueline Randolph skillfully manages to tie together the Spanish Inquisition, a 1966 major U.S. nuclear accident in Southern Spain, and the family history of her "Deception Series" heroine, Drug Enforcement Administration agent Skye Matthews, in the series' thrilling third book "Deception's Legacy" (ISBN 9781596821026, Fultus Corporation, 2007).
Skye Matthews is a strong, independent, beautiful, Spanish, black woman who has survived many dangerous adventures across the globe as an undercover agent for the DEA. In the series' first book, "Deception's Guard," Skye reluctantly falls for the handsome, kind Rhys Wielde, a powerful bioinformatics CEO who shatters all of her negative male stereotypes. The second book, "Deception's Fury," finds Skye and Rhys happily married? until Skye accepts a questionable, new mission that tests the strength of their relationship.
The action-packed, romantic "Deception Series" is semi-autobiographical because much of the material was inspired by Randolph's own travels and experiences as a U.S. Air Force Officer, pilot, and part-time missionary. "In the midst of all Skye's strength, beauty, frailty and neurosis, my hope is that she inspires readers to revel in life's adventures," Randolph says.
In "Deception's Legacy," Randolph takes readers to historic Spain, exploring Skye's family connections to both the 15th century Spanish Inquisition and a 1966 plane crash that caused the largest nuclear cleanup in history. "Deception's Legacy" also projects more than 20 years into the future, where Skye's son Tristan is a rookie DEA agent, and up against much more than he realizes on a mission in Seville, Spain. Skye quickly realizes that she needs to step in, not only to protect her son, but also because it's her only chance to finally get to the bottom of a long-kept, devastating family secret and a very deceptive legacy.
