Duluth, Georgia Next Stop for Atlanta Author's Summer Book Tour

Acworth, GA (PRWEB) July 7, 2007 -- Darlene F. Wofford, Atlanta native and author of "Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember," continues her summer book tour Saturday, July 7th at Waldenbooks in Duluth, Georgia. Waldenbooks is located next to Parisian on the upper level of Gwinnett Place Mall, 2100 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA 30096, and their phone number is 770-476-7410. The author will be greeting guests at the front of the store and signing her novel from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

If the name Darlene Wofford rings a bell it may be because she and Carl, her husband of 40 years are both native Atlantans, and along with sons Kenneth and Cory, have been Woodstock/ Acworth residents for 35 years. She has been in the mortgage finance industry for 20 years, and every Saturday morning in 2006 from 10-11:00 a.m., she co-hosted an hour-long Atlanta radio talk-show called "Your Inner Voice." She has also been interviewed recently regarding her novel on several Atlanta radio stations.

Based on true events in the her life, "An Assignment to Remember" is the first of three novels in Wofford's "Edgewise" series, with the second, "Seven Years 'Til Sunrise," scheduled for release next year, followed by the third in 2009. The term "Edgewise" is used to describe the book's protagonist as a young Atlanta woman whose mind has shut down to block out back-to-back traumatic events, however other memories of her life are blocked, as well. Told through the eyes of the author's alter ego, "An Assignment to Remember" is not as much about the events as it is the inspiring story about her healing progression, and the prevailing strength of unconditional love between two people.

To quote Page One Lit literary newsletter, "Wofford is a wonderful writer whose personality and charisma is vivid in every word and sentence in her new book, 'Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember.' This is the most honest, heart-inspiring book ...(of the)... year. 'Edgewise' is an example of how one woman wants to live in the past but realizes she can't. It is about confronting reality. It is about emotions. It is about communication. It is about life." A reader sums it up nicely on Barnes and Noble's web site in her review, "Edgewise took me on an emotional journey of laughter, sorrow and hope."
