Fantasy Novel "Herald" Named Finalist for ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Award
Indianapolis, IN (PRWeb) March 15, 2007 -- ForeWord Magazine has listed Indianapolis author N.F. Houck's fantasy novel, Herald, as a finalist for its prestigious Book of the Year Award for 2006.
"I'm very grateful to the ForeWord Magazine judges for honoring Herald this way," says Houck. "Writing this book was a lot of fun, and I'm glad so many people have enjoyed reading it. It's great incentive to keep writing!"
Herald is a fictional autobiography of the ancient Greek god Hermes and gives readers a personal glimpse at major figures from Greek mythology. The book has received praise from readers and reviewers, including from BookWire and Joe Taylor of ForeWord Clarion Reviews.
ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Award was established to bring greater attention to independent publishers and authors. A jury of librarians, booksellers and reviewers judge the entries. Winners and finalists are selected based upon editorial excellence, professional production, originality, and the overall value of the book within its genre.
Gold, silver and bronze distinctions for the 2006 awards will be granted in each genre category during Book Expo America on June 1, 2007. Herald is a finalist in the Literary Fiction category.
Herald is available in softcover from most online booksellers, including Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and BooksAMillion. A special hardback edition is available only from Lulu Press: www.lulu.com/content/218941.
