Christine Whitmarsh Publishes First Book; Book Dedicated to Grandmother and Published on Anniversary of Death
Reno, NV (PRWeb) March 1, 2007 -- Entrepreneur/Author Christine Whitmarsh will self-publish her first book, One Citizen's Words, this Wednesday February 28 on the anniversary of her grandmother's death, whom the book is dedicated to.
"My grandmother Allene Pitman was a poet in New England in the 1940s and 1950s and her poem 'Words' is one of my favorites. In 'Words' she defined the power and possibilities of words and language in her era. With my book I hope to do the same for the citizens of my generation. Her passion for words was a wonderful gift that she passed on to me," said Christine.
Christine's book is described as a collection of contemporary life philosophies. The book features essays on her often humorous thoughts concerning everything from the death of mom and pop stores to why all single women aren't lesbians.
While Christine is proud of her book, it is the latest in a long line of achievements. She is also a screenwriter and director, and owns a full service-writing firm: Christine, Ink, most successful in California and Northern Nevada.
Christine's personal mission in life is to rekindle a universal passion for the written word and language. To do this she created "Words the Movement" in 2006. She hopes to create an understanding in young people that the written word is very powerful and an amazing tool for self-expression. One Citizen's Words follows this theme and while it is Christine's outlet for self-expression it is also an entertaining and motivational read.
"My fear is that we are becoming a society communicating with instant messaging on cave walls. I want to rekindle young people's passion for the written word," said Christine.
